Sir Edmund Hillary was once asked why he climbed Mt. Everest. His simple answer was ‘because it is there’. Sandy Hill, the author of this book, probably felt the same and she wanted more. One of the first people to climb all Seven Summits, Sandy has compiled lots of stories and photographs from her mountaineering adventures. Her passion of climbing the world’s highest peaks are shared by several mountaineers. The images they have captured would surely fascinate future generations and this book was written for that. Proceeds of its sales will benefit the American Alpine Club Library. $54.
