Hockey will never, ever reach the popularity of football. That’s alright, beer league players don’t mind, nor casual fans. So what does Budweiser Canada do to at least glorify the game during the Super Bowl? They make a commercial like this. Two teams, the Amigos and Generals, played a seemingly harmless hockey game. The ruse was, a documentary was being filmed, so the players didn’t mind the cameras. Little did they know that a pack of raucous, hockey-mad crowd was to invade the arena, complete with mascots, belly-painted babes and the works. Result? Nothing short of spectacular and will definitely bring a tear to the eye on even the ice-cold hearts of the ordinary observer. The commercial will be aired in the Canadian broadcast of the Big Game.
